Our Story
A tiny life and a great loss
In May, 2020, our three-month old son, Charles, died. Charlie was born with a genetic disorder that made it extremely challenging for him to breath. The pain we experienced watching our child struggle for every breath is indescribable. Although Charlie's death was not preventable, too many children die needlessly every day because they are living without life's most basic necessities: food, clean water and shelter. We've created Charlie's Choice Foundation under the philosophy that no parent should have to watch their child struggle to survive and every child deserves to have food in their belly, clean water in their cup and a roof over their head.

Charlie's Choice is dedicated to serving humanity's most basic needs by providing funding to credible non-profit organizations working to alleviate global hunger, build safe shelters, and end the clean water crisis. Our mission is driven by the core belief that every person deserves to have food in their belly, a roof over their head, and clean water in their cup.

Our Charitable Focus
We believe humans have great potential, but to reach one's full potential, foundational needs must first be met. Charlie's Choice chooses to focus support on providing food, clean water and shelter to those who need it most. 100% of every dollar donated goes toward funding credible non-profits focused on serving these first order needs.
Our Promise to Donors
We all want to do good in the world, but knowing where to put your charitable donations can be challenging. Researching and vetting non-profit organizations is time consuming and it can be hard to know where your dollars are really going. As individual donors prior to creating Charlie's Choice, we understand those challenges.

Every organization that receives funding from Charlie's Choice must pass an extensive review process and an additional application process (for grant based funding). We promise to stay true to our mission to only support credible non-profits focused on ending hunger, clean water for all and safe shelter. Additionally, we are committed to providing an annual report to all donors with a summary of financial giving including how our non-profit partners are using grant funding from Charlie's Choice to support our mission.
Our Donor Matching Plan
Charlie's Choice is a family run foundation, founded by Kate & Michael Prince in memory of their baby boy, Charles Prince, who passed away at three-months old. The Prince family will match every dollar donated, up to $15k annually, which means every dollar you donate to Charlie's Choice will have double the impact!
